Interesting - did you go for the one with the hole in it?! In his ad it says "Blocking the EGR system on these engines completely will put on the engine management light/warning on, unless the egr valve is mapped out. I also list it with a hole in (111585366725), so that the warning light should not come on". Is there any downside to doing this? |

I don't think it can be done on the facelift models(MY11 onwards) is that correct? i did have a problem on my MY13 -reduced power mode while towing the caravan to be exchanged in Dorset ! I have 2 years free Landrover Breakdown and they came out very promptly, said "it's the EGR sticking. I asked if it could be blanked off and he said no, it's a really hard job because it was at the back of the engine now not at the front. Local dealer repaired under warranty. Interesting towing back to Devon on reduced power though! Sport/ command shift all the way! Just a bit slow up the hills! MY 2013 SD GS Auto |

It should make a noticeable difference if the EGR valve is stuck open. Otherwise no, you won't see a difference. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone

Fitted a blanking plate today to my 2008 model and noticed an immediate difference already. Fitted these to all my diesels so far and have had no problems yet. Most systems have a recirculating device purely for emissions and quick warm up for city smog control. |

2700 miles later and what a nice car it is to drive, fuel consumption is now rock steady at 36mpg, I am quite ham fisted at driving the car so do not drive economically at all. Overall pleased with with this simple modification
