your rubbish driving obviously - Very Happy

Possibly a lot of shorter runs.
Just comparing to mine, where the EGR valve has been fine for 180K, but it's a 40 mile mainly motorway run every day each way to and from work. Around town we use Gills Micra, as it more readily fits into car parking bays, and already has a LOT of dings from other car doors. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her

You joke my driving but maybe it is? 😳
I do try and give it a full red line burst when hot every now and then. My journeys are 10miles each way or 40 each way mostly.
I'm going to avoid Morrisons diesel, it is the closest, but read some anecdotal complaints?
Anyway posted to try and help others having the restricted performance lights.

Morrisons fuel did get a bad rep a few years ago - they were adding a lot more of the Bio content than the main stream fuel brands.
I would say that 90% of my fuel comes from Tesco / Asda / Sainsburys, You can tell the difference if you fill up with shell / BP, but with Asda at £1.11 a litre and BP at £1.23 a litre (the only one on the way to work) I will have saved £3,500+ by using cheaper diesel.

For me more important than the brand of fuel, is changing the fuel filter every service. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her

So started the car this afternoon (2011 td4 45k) and got an odd judder as the car tried to start. Once running got the engine management light on and reduced engine performance warning.

Doesn't judder on every startup but certainly on many of them. My local indy can't see me until January Sad

Was serviced last month and MOTd with no issues.

Hoping it is something simple this close to Christmas! FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues
2019 DS. Terribly unreliable.
Sold DS for a 2021 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Fingers crossed....
Sold Outlander for a 2014 SD4 SE Tech because I’m mental
Now greatly regret selling the Outlander. MPG of the FL2 is atrocious and so are the fuel bills. Fun though 😎
Couldn’t afford the fuel bills so back to an older Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Significantly better than I remembered it to be…

just a thought
It might be the motorised flap in the air inlet - near manifold.
It does a "self test" on startup, if the gears are stripped / damaged (and they often are) the partially closed flap will restrict performance.

The error you describe was similar to mine for a few weeks before it failed completely. Partial failure doesn't give a helpful error message, but complete failure does. complete failure closes the flap = no start.
The part is around £150 and takes an hour or so to fit. When mine failed the AA guy put a screwdriver through the damn thing, car worked fine for a couple of days until I got around to replacing it. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her

Thanks - I'm not confident fishing around in there so I'll leave it until someone who knows what they are doing can look. Although a friend may be able to find his code reader which would be helpful. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues

No idea about your problem but the LR assist guy said that a faulty egr valve can give a bad start followed by the restricted performance message? Pita things but can't, apparently, be removed now unlike on previous versions

Whatever it is I hope it isn't too costly to fix. Days like this when I wished I'd renewed the extended warranty again. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues

Apparently a "pressure differential" on the exhaust system. Suggest it could be a sensor, crack in a pipe somewhere or the exhaust itself. Will need to dismantle a wee bit to find out apparently.

I'm guessing it's not going to be cheap Sad FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues

Do you do lots of short runs ? How many miles ?

I hired a small Peugeot and it obviously had never got out of Munich as it was a different car once I had run for her for a few hundred miles over the Brenner Pass, around the Dolomite s and back. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

Recently yes it has all been short runs. I was assuming no DPF issues as I thought it would error with a proper DPF error. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues

If you can get enough revs I would boot it down a Motorway and back for 50 miles asap and run her up through the revs getting to max speed a few times. May not work but its a cheap option to start with. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years
