Sign of things to come!!!!

Hi All,
On my way back from Holland yesterday I clocked 100,000 Miles in my 64 plate metropolis.
stopped at a services for a coffee & noticed that one of my rear number plate bulbs had blown.
is this a sign of things to come??? Very Happy Hit it he said, Hit it!--So I hit it, then he hit me---Doh!

HI,
A lot of that on trips to and from your beautiful part of the world (not to mention almost monthly trips to various places in Europe)
must say, am very impressed that I all that hurried mileage, I have had a simple bulb go!

Only other lingering problem-had this for a few months, finding it very hard to get wheels balanced.
tried numerous garages, but never 100%
any idea's? Cool Hit it he said, Hit it!--So I hit it, then he hit me---Doh!

I take it that you've no plans to change, despite the bulb failure?!

LOL!
Did cross my mind for a few seconds!!!
it is a company car & I have it until next September- There is a LR limit of 135,000 miles with contract
can see I will top that well before then but up to my Gaffer, so will wait & see.
Maybe go for an Evoque or the Disco sport as they are growing on me to be honest.
at the end of the day I have my monthly budget and theoretically can have whatever I like-subject to approval upstairs.
Watch this space.
Still absolutely Lurrrve the Freelander despite the hiccup yesterday!!!! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Now just to get the wheels balanced correctly. Hit it he said, Hit it!--So I hit it, then he hit me---Doh!

I'm struggling with wheel balance too, never get it spot on, they seem to have to use very large weights spread over a large area, they are steel, not lead, I suspect this doesn't help.

Lightweight!!!!!
Seriously, it is a cracking motor, just seems to get better the more I drive it- engine is nice and lose, very responsive.
just my sodding wobbly wheels!!!!!!
Will be a shame to part with it when the time comes.
LR want payment of 10,000 at end of agreement and would buy it for her indoors but she just got new car in April.
Funnily, her indoors said I should consider going back "DOWN" to a Merc!!!!!!
What a dreamer. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Hit it he said, Hit it!--So I hit it, then he hit me---Doh!

Hi Taz,
it is the one thing that really annoys me.
badly balanced wheels are the bane of my life, especially as I am in the saddle so much!
One of my sons friends works at a local place and they do a fair job I hear- will go tomorrow and try them out.
Fingers crossed. Hit it he said, Hit it!--So I hit it, then he hit me---Doh!

Freelander 1 Estate - leased, given back at end of lease
200TDi Disco (bought from a mate with 100,000 on the clock) - Gone
Disco 2 TD5 - sold and exported to France
FR2 TD4 GS - Gone
FR2 SD4 HSE - Now changed for a DS
New model ex-demo Evoque S 180 in white
Unable to order a new DS, so gave up. Now have a Volvo S90 Recharge.
