Out of that lot the shocks would be the only MOT issue. I think you have been had if you had not spotted large pools of oil where you parked overnight. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years FL2 MY13 TD4 GS Current |

I can't believe that I've been had,as I've got video evidence of the problems. You are probably right though.Luckily,I have now been given the address of a reputable independent who I shall be visiting in the near future. |

Reminds me of the experience of a pal of mine when we were Engineering Officers in the RAF. He put his car into a Renault main dealer for an MOT and was told ' the front discs are nearly worn out, the front pads are nearly worn out, the exhaust is just about to start blowing and the wiper blades are nearly finished' to which he correctly replied - 'so it has passed the MOT then' ! My wife's Peugeot 1.4 16v petrol has an oil leak from the head gasket, it's a common fault on that engine and it's been like it since at least 2011 and there is no oil in the water. I found that if I topped the oil up then the leak got worse so now I keep it right at the bottom end of the dipstick marker and when she starts it up a message still comes up saying "oil OK". It's a 10 year old car that has only done 45k miles so not really worth fixing as it's a big job to do the gasket but it seems to run OK despite a "starved" oil leak. Not sure I would treat my FL2 this way of course! 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
