United Kingdom 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Auto Zermatt Silver

I've booked our 09 for a full under chassis clean ,dry , and waxoyl. It will be a fair chunk of change to get the job done properly with inner door panels, wheel arches etc done. However as I've said before it's a decent enough thing and still drives very nicely . It does the winter duties as well as anything else and better than most so even allowing for a few big repairs over the next few years it is still worth keeping" it tip -top " 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

That looks like a lot of rust for an 08, my 57 is mint underneath with barely any rust that I've noticed.

I agree, the pics show an exceptional amount of rust. Maybe it has been off-roaded regularly, or used to back a boat trailer in to water? Only dead fish go with the flow

I suspect it may depend to some extent on where the car has lived for most of it's life, being anywhere near the coast will always take it's toll unless the underside has some extra protection. Let's face it the factory finish isn't really up to much. Rolling Eyes

I ended up passing on it. Having done my fair share of welding on defender and discovery chassis' due to rust, I couldn't make myself feel comfortable about this. My initial thoughts were maybe it had been used to launch boats into the sea as the worst area seems to be the back, in particular around the towbar.

Shame as it is mint otherwise.

The search continues!

wise move, there are plenty out there and this one does seem to have been subjected to salt.

Hi

My 08 plate spent the first 9 years of its life in Scotland, it looks like very like the photos you have - more salt on the orads I'm guessing!!!. Sound underneath if you prod with a screwdriver and lovely in all other respects. Just flown through its MoT with no advisroies : )
