I did very well on the Subaru thank you local guy price matched the best Internet deal and also got 50% down 50% in 12 months, I was offered a DS at list -5% from a car broker for early delivery on a pre ordered HSE auto. Internet brokers are worth a weeks research before even walking into a showroom I don't know if the increased taxes on cars above £40k will make a ha'porth of difference several things will happen, 1) a whole raft of specifications will come out at £39, 999 with the ability to add "bolt on packs" after purchase so not affecting the price at first registration 2) A huge portion of vehicles over 40k go to fleet users, they will just continue to lease, but lower the the number of options that their fleet users get to specify , so as to keep the lifetime costs overall the same. 3 ) if you can afford to buy, finance or service a 50K or 60k or above vehicle you won't think twice. The problem then comes when said 50k vehicle becomes 2 or year old vehicle and the asprational buyer is faced with the tax at rate + £310 untill it us 6 years old. Then as Tigger says fuel costs can crucify non essential 4x4 sales , I can still remember the days of the £90 fill on the Freelander 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership 2016 Subaru Outback SE 2.0 diesel SE Premium Lineartronic Sold 2024 after 8 years and 80k miles . I was looking at the spec of the new XC90, great sounding car until I used a website that you could configure the car with your caravan.. my van is average size & weight , with my van on the back of an XC90 the train weight is 52kg .. bit of a cock up by Volvo. What exactly is a "pre order"? I have noticed this term coming into use recently. You just "order" something regardless of whether it's been made yet. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto 5 x FL2 4 manual + 1 auto Now Discovery Sport P250 MHEV SE |

Sorry to be pedantic but my wife and daughter are both English graduates and they get upset about this sort of thing. Just don't get them started on apostroph's. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

I thought a pre-order was a car specified and ordered from the factory without a buyer by a dealer on spec, then punted out to the trade if not sold within a period, some times the ordering dealer will use the expression, used to be described as a vehicle in stock. In this day and age there is no stock, just pre -orders and cancelled orders to indicate a bargain that doesn't exist. my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

Exactly as Dartman said . A car that I didn't specify, which was not in stock at a dealer but had been ordered by one and had a very early delivery date . Dealer order ? cancelled customer or fleet order ? To be fair I had no intention of buying from a broker as the supplying dealer could have been anywhere from Aberdeen to Truro . I prefer to buy local ( last 3 Landies from same local group ) , but car broker prices do show what is possible . I spent my last 6 weeks at work searching for car prices and found that if you were in the position to pull the trigger immediately there were some great deals... 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership 2016 Subaru Outback SE 2.0 diesel SE Premium Lineartronic Sold 2024 after 8 years and 80k miles .
