PCH. Why not open up a separate paypal account linked to your business account or card? The app on my phone is linked to one account and I opened a fresh PayPal account for my wife linked to another account. I have another paypal account linked to my business bank account but I only use that for online purchases. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

I considered that, its just the effort / reward isnt worth it for me. - Yet another online account to manage Sad

I will stick to using the business debit card in the pumps.

Fuelled up today but my local shell doesn't have the fill up and go. From experiences on here it seems easier just to walk into the shop and pay. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

Splash and dash!

Just topped up again. Sadly, I timed it. From stopping at the pump, opening the app and waiting for authorisation, topping up with 27.55 litres and pulling away from the pump it took me 2:04. That's quicker than an F1 splash and dash when it was allowed. Mind you, I doubt if they just took on 27.55 litres of V-Power Nitro+ Diesel! Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

I'll certainly be trying it out next time Thumbs Up Although, since filling up last Friday and having covered 50 miles since then going to and from work, the fuel gauge needle hasn't budged. The computer claimed 570 miles until empty after the fill up but I reset the trip to see what it actually manages. Off to Warwick and Stratford Upon Avon on Friday so there should be some extra MPG to be had with a long settled cruise down the motorway.

That's jinxed it! Cue bank holiday traffic carnage Laughing LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

Well I tried the app yesterday and it failed miserably Rolling Eyes It acknowledged the symbol at the pump and said authorising my account but then said there was a technical issue so pay at the till. I tried it again to no avail. I hasten to add that I was in a strong 4G signal area so no problem on that front.

I wonder if the change of banks this week has affected the PayPal authorisation. I might delete my account from the app then re-link it. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

From Shell:
‘Technical Issue’: There was a problem with the system that runs Fill Up & Go. You can try again or choose to pay in the shop. If you choose to pay at the till, you’ll need to get the pump manually authorised by the Customer Assistant before filling up.

I didn't need to get the pump reset or anything. It worked as normal when I got out of the car. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

Update: I emailed Shell and they have acknowledged the problem at that garage and informed senior management for that area so it can be fixed. They apologised and credited 300 points to my drivers club card. Fair play to them Thumbs Up LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

I work for the division of the company [who now] own the IPR for this app. We originally wrote and trialed it under the name of MiFuel way back in 2012 with the first pilot site in Borden. All of the major oil companies are now developing their own versions of the app.

Recently reloaded the app on my new phone. Now, you don't need PayPal you can assign a debit card to it. Worked okay yesterday. Thumbs Up Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

Great, first we had the shop part selling everything instead of the basic essentials meaning people go in to do their weekly shop - hence a queue to the door to pay for your fuel!!! Now we have a queue at the pumps waiting for the old dear with an antiquated Nokia phone trying to download the app.

Asda had a good idea some years ago - don't know if they still do it. You pull up at the pump, put your fuel in, jump back in your car, drive to a booth near the exit where there is an attendant waiting to take your payment, pay and drive off - happy days!! Now - 2017 BMW X3 M Sport Carbon Black
