that's very nice
although, the movement it's a little bit too fast and the tailgate doesn't fully open
check this video for instance

It's the same user, but I think it improved the mod
Definitely something I would like for my car

Gibraltar 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Auto Fuji White

Hi, would like to 'revive' this topic. Anyone heard of any of these being done since this thread was abandoned back in 2013?

There's references to the HOW TOs, but the links to FL2italia fail.

thanks

I have a vague impression that the Discovery Sport has an automatic tailgate.
Maybe the hardware from there (at least the electric struts) can be adapted here.

I wondered what happens if theres not enough space available for it to open, i doubt it has distance sensors to stop it, or does it??

Maybe only current sensing. If it encounters an obstacle, the motors draws a current greater than normal and the logic stops the motors. Just like the side electric windows.

Wonder if they could do the same with the bonnet and doors so you dont strain yourself or get your hands dirty?

For those who want a powered tailgate in their Freelander 2 here are the 3 fields you'll need to enable for MY13 onwards.
I'm guessing the gentleman in the "how to" video did just this!

 MY15
Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)
Surround Camera System
InControl Apps soon to be replaced with CarPlay (WIP)
Meridian Premium Surround Sound
Digital Audio Broadcast
Timed Climate
Cruise ECO Data
Follow Me Home Reverse
Extra Features Menu
Picture In Motion
4x4i screen (WIP)
Digital Broadcast TV
Meridian Rear Media with WIFI
Factory Powered Tailgate
Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM)
Reverse Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA)
Electrochromatic Wing Mirrors (WIP)

Also interested in fitting a powered tailgate and found this:

http://www.che1.com/pcategory/electric-tai...st-system/

Anybody had any dealings with them?

I have requested a fitting guide for the FL2 to see if there are any issues.

Interesting to see the post about the coding as I have an MY13
