iPhone 7

Well, it's out and despite being a liker of Apple products and having the latest must-have gadget ....I'll pass! Same size and shape as the 6 so a slippery bastard to hold. Most improvements are of no use to me except perhaps the waterproof element. I'm going to get an SE - almost all the gubbins of the 6S in the case of a 5 and nearly 300 quid cheaper. Bearing in mind the luck I had with my 6 (dropped once down the bog - new phone needed, dropped from a ladder - new screen needed, fell out of my pocket on my motorbike - new phone needed), I think I'll get the two year AppleCare insurance with it this time. Anyway, wifey cracked the screen on her 5 last week and she'll be getting my 6 whether she likes it or not!

Doc - I suppose you'll be going for the handbag size 7 plus tart version in rose gold. Laughing Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

The plus size for my manly hands. Must avoid the girlie basic size Laughing

Will read up on it and might go for a 12 month contract so I can have the iPhone 8 which will apparently be launched next year for the 10 year anniversary of the iPhone. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

I have the iPhone 6S plus, can't really see why I would change it for a 7 Confused Looks the same and does all the same things. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

That's what I always say when the S models come along as my contract always runs out when the new model is released. Its got the usual improvements such as faster processor and better battery life. The camera is a big improvement as the Plus version has a telephoto lens.

To be fair, I don't think even the iPhone 8 will be the best thing since the moon landing or penicillin. The changes are just gradual progression as opposed to groundbreaking. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

Currently running a 6s Plus, with my wife and daughter a 6 Plus each. The 2 x 6 Plus' contracts are upgradable from the end of this month, but there's nothing here that makes it worthwhile upgrading, We've agreed to simply go for a SIM only contract and save the cash.

Apple will need to try a lot harder than this with the 8!

PS: Still smarting after my change from my old 6 Plus to the "s" version; my battery used to last the day, now it's empty around lunchtime Censored

We're on sim only contracts so I always buy ours outright but this time, with so little difference (at least the 4/5/6 were different shapes/sizes from previous models) and with Apple asking £919 for the 256gb 7plus, they really are extracting the urine out of their customers and I can see them loosing market share because of that. As I said, I'm going for the SE at £429. I need a 64gb phone but as the 7 comes in either 32, 128 or 256gb I'd need the 128gb. Im just not prepared to pay £699 for a phone that looks the same as the one I already have and don't like the shape and thinness! I wonder whether I'm alone in that? Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

Before I decide 100%, I'll be heading to the shop to see the phone and if they can't offer a deal that matches my existing monthly payments, I'll go for sim only as my existing phone will be paid for. It will be the first time I haven't upgraded since the iPhone 4

i'm tempted but then i think

wait 6 months for the 7s (when apple improve their release mistakes)

then think sod it buy it outright, keep my 5gb unlimited everything for £25pcm

then think save money and get 6s and wait till 8, comes in 12 months

Thinking 7 plus this time (or the 6 plus) or the new iWatch, or buy my bros iWatch Series 1 off him

why can't it be simple Big Cry Laughing Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

In the build up to the iPhone 7 offers being released, O2 can offer me the iPhone 6S Plus 64GB for £9.99 upfront, then £58 per month with 30GB of data on a 24 month deal.

I would not ordinarily consider this but see the below offer thrown in with it. I also have 2 people prepared to pay me £300 for my current phone.

i am on a similar deal, i took a 24 month contract, one tarriff for the purchase of the phone, one for the airtime

i get 5gb per month and could have at any point paid off my phone and took out a new phone

i don't think they offer this now and the phone is mine and paid for, so i just pay the airtime tariff of £25

The deal you post says "trade in your old phone" so you would not be able to sell the phone to others

they will also offer you less than you could get privately Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I'll just have to wait and see what the 7 offers are. Can't grumble at £300 from a private sale. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

Me and the wife get 250 minutes, unlimited texts and 250Mb data on our sims. We don't use even half of that. Been paying around £13 per month for both, not each, for the last 4 years and we get a fiver off our home broadband as well. Laughing Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

It's available to pre-order from tomorrow morning. Having just sent 2 movies to the cloud from my phone, my storage has dropped to 28GB so the 32GB is feasible for me.

If I bought from Apple, I can finance the phone over 24 months for £34 per month then get sim only from O2 for £15 per month. This would equal what I'm already paying with O2 for my current phone so it will be interesting to see what O2 offer.

Worth considering other networks if I go sim only. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

on last night keynote they said that the US owners who took the 24 month payment option on their 6s will be now coming to their 12 month upgrade in time for the 7, this is to be rolled out to the UK also

so the £34 you quote i think is the apple finance standard 24 month contract at 15%apr

i'm going to see whats what when they release pre orders tomorrow Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Not sure who's on O2 but I just got the £25 sim only bundle for my 6 Plus which is now out of contract. It's a 12 month simplicity for £25pcm. You get unlimited minutes and texts both anytime and any network with 25GB of data a month!

Must say I'm very tempted buying the piano black 7 Plus as a sim free handset. MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior
