Goodyear Wranglers vs Continental 4x4's

Is anyone aware of the difference between these tyres? I've read conflicting views on the web. I quite like the look of the Wranglers, but the Conti's seem to get better reviews?? Any personal experiences on this site?? Question

cheers

I have Conti 4x4 IceContact, and I am very happy with them. That's really all I can say.
Oh- I have them without dubs. No need for chains or dubs. Snow or ice, -you get there.
You can check out my gallery. I took a photo of my tyres once.

Oh, also very important. I chose 16"-rims. 17" is usable, but a little big. 18" is too big, and 19" is useless.
That is regardless of what tyre you choose.
I have 18"-rims for my summer tyres, and 16"-rims for my winther tyres. 2008 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Automatic, Caspian Blue, Alpaca, Moon roof, Exclusive pack.

Thanks for tips. I have 17's on mine, so I guess they should do all year round. i wish we had the snow you get in your country and I'd have an excuse to buy winter tyres!! Thumbs Up Gone - TD4 XS Auto, Sumatra Black, Mud flaps and side strips, clear indicators, private plate, privacy glass

Have a look at these bad boys mate. They're expensive, but apparently very good. I think my Continental 4 x 4 Contacts are wearing pretty well, considering this site absolutely hates them!!

I'm on Wranglers and have gone out my way to find snow to drive on. I can't make a comparison with other makes but can say the Wranglers have not let me down. I've gone out of my way to find challenging roads around the Peak District including the Snake & Woodhead Pass areas when the roads were closed. Had some interesting times up and down some 1 in 4 & 1 in 5 gradients and I'm still here to tell the tale. Stornoway Grey GS ... What a fine motor Smile ... but not any more ... Big Cry ... psst look at my gallery!

It seems there are so many conflicting views on these two popular FL2 tyres. I've come to the conclusion they are similar in performance. I prefer the look of the Wranglers though. Odly my full sze spare is a Wrangler and yet the car was fitted with conti's. Strange!! Gone - TD4 XS Auto, Sumatra Black, Mud flaps and side strips, clear indicators, private plate, privacy glass
