Top Speed

Was playing with my FL2 today to see if the top speed in the book was accurate. It is. But so much so that it felt that I had hit a limiter. Was progressing nicely and then hit 112 and bam, was going no further.

Anyone else seen this? 09MY FL2 Td4 XS, Style Pack, Privacy Glass, Martinique Blue.. oh so very blue..

You found the limiter then, fun isn't it?
Next service it will get flagged up on the diagnostic computer that you were speeding and they will have to report you to the nanny state Rolling with laughter How can carbon have a footprint, it has no feet?

strange Confused

I had that out of mine, but didn't feel any restriction at that speed and it felt like it would have kept on going

Might have to have another run, if the conditions suit Whistle Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Of course you were/ will be on a private road when all this happened/s ....................................... NP is off to the local track day to overtake all the Lotus Elises in his Freely2 TD4 just to see where his limiter cuts in Rolling with laughter How can carbon have a footprint, it has no feet?

Unlikely as he would have to take his beloved van off the towbar first, still the Elise's would have difficulty overtaking to lap him Laughing At work

When it first opened is was like open season every man and his dog seemed to be taking their motors for a bit of a thrash. But there seems to be quite a bit of enforcement activty these days. Big Cry

FYI - Speeding enforcement tends, no action up to 10% over speed limit as speedos can legally be plus or minus this amount. It all depends on your speedos accuracy. Warning up to 9 mph over the limit, fixed penalty from 10 mph to 19mph over the limit, except when in a 60 zone, where it's up to 84 pmh and a 70 zone, where it is up to 94 mph. In all other cases report to the prosecutor as the fixed penaly scheme isn't appropriate - i.e. not enough of a fine, points or disqualification. As a matter of interest, if you are liable to disqualification thro' totting up, even if your speed is a fixed penalty, you will get reported. Don't take this as gospel, every force has differing tolerances. Oh, and as for the 20 mph limit - there really isn't any leeway. You don't have to exceed the limit much before you are done like a kipper!

Can anyone remember the episode on Top Gear when they wanted to find out how fast you have to go to prevent you speed camera from taking a photo of your vehicle? (in other words you had past the camera's range before it flashed) I think they managed it but cant remember the speed. Now - 2017 BMW X3 M Sport Carbon Black
