Window madness

2007 Freelander 2

Bit of an odd one! Front passenger window works correctly from master control but drivers side only works one-touch down but not up. Meanwhile the rear isolator switch seems to prevent rear lowering by the passenger but the windows can be raised...the isolator switch seems to have no effect.

Can these issues be fixed by replacing the master switch assembly?

Thanks

Mine does this occasionally, usually when I've disconnected the battery for some reason. The normal solution is to recalibrate the window ecu's.

Extract from the manual -

Window reset
The windows will need to be reset if the battery is disconnected, becomes discharged, or power supply is interrupted.
Reset as follows:-
1. Close the window fully.
2. Release the switch, then lift it to the close position and hold for two seconds.
3. Open the window fully.
4. Release the switch, then push it to the
open position and hold for two seconds.
5. Lift and release the switch to operate the one touch function.
6. Repeat the procedure on each window.

I remember that being the same procedure in a Vauxhall Cavalier SRI that I had. In addition to the auto close function, resetting them was required for the safety shut off. Showing someone the 'safety shut off' (where the window reverses direction when it encounters an obstruction), not long after I had fitted a new battery I put my fingers on top of the window and sent it up. It nearly broke my fingers! That's how I found out about resetting windows..... Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto
