Freelander 2.2 diesel over boosting with no power or errors.

Hi Guys,
After having a few vibration issues those are now the least of my problems.

I put an EGR blanking plate in and the car ran nicely for 3 days.

I then changed all the belts and tensioners and checked the timing 3x to ensure all was OK.

Car started and ran pretty good....until I blew the hose from the intercooler to the throttle body off on its first run after 4km (guessing I hadn't pushed it on far enough).

Car as expected had no boost or power and luckily I was 500m from home and limped her there. I had 1 pending error that turned out to be "air leak" suprise suprise. The car didn't show any errors.

I put hose back on and she was a bit rough idling, drove her and she has very little power and is boosting very high (about 20% throttle I am at 90% boost) but have no power (like I'm towing a bus).

Any ideas what could have gone wrong? Thinking that something could have happened with the variable vanes in turbo but not sure how blowing a hose off would cause this. Any other suggestions?

Thanks for your help.

I had a problem with mine yesterday where it wouldn't start, it eventually did but it was very rough when running and black smoke occasionally. It would also loose power when driving, for a second then pick back up again. Took it to an indy and they diagnosed it as the throttle body was shot. Could be the same with yours?

Just had the car throw a U0300 code. Just looking into it, the car had a new throttle body 2months ago (not saying it isn't the problem).
I cleared the code, turned car off and started again and code disappeared, car still not running right but code hasn't come back yet...no pending codes...yet.
I'll look into the throttle body.

Might be a part of the problem - as I understand it the system checks for EGR function and adjusts settings accordingly - AFAIK you can't just blank off the EGR on the FL2 (dependant on year can't see what year/model you own) - there are loads of posts about trying to blank EGR might be worth a read. No Longer the owner of a 2013MY Fuji White GS

Car is a 2008 model without DPF. The EGR blanking was removed just prior to getting the fault.

Just to clarify.
EGR blanked - Car ran well
Timing belt and serp belt changed and car started and drove well till hose blew off.
Car was rough and no power after hose re-installed. No error codes.
Battery disconnected and reconnected. Car still rough.
EGR blanking removed and battery disconnected. car started and threw U0300 error (engine light on).
Cleared code and started again. No code.
Just for good measure checked batt voltage (12.6V with car off) and disconnected and discharged system. Started 3 x and so far no code. Will see when I get a change to drive it tomorrow.

Then I'd go for the throttle body suggestion - again quite few posts on here about it

Update.

Started and warmed her up, no code.

Drove to work and she drove normally. Gave her a boot full a few times and seems to be running like normal, just a little rough at idle but nothing bad (been like this for a while but that is another issue).

In a previous post I had a strange vibration at about 1500rpm on deceleration. After the belts and numerous resets it appears to be gone!

No Idea why but hope it stays that way (It was raining here in Aus yesterday so maybe she felt homesick, sunny today).

Thanks for the suggestions guys
