F1 GP - boring ?

I like motorsport of all kinds but what can be done to make F1 actually fun to watch on TV ?

I've just sat through the Hungarian GP and nearly fell asleep twice. Yesterdays qualifying was the best bit with a sense of urgency developing towards the end of each session.

In terms of entertainment MotoGP and Superbikes are much more thrilling and even the Tour de France had me on the edge of my seat with that scary final descent in the heavy rain. Jules

I agree today's race was not the most engaging. Apart from the start to turn 2 and then Palmer's pit stop and later spin it was a bit of a procession. Even Vettel and Alonso (for different reasons) admitted they were bored!! Rolling Eyes The rules re the pit crew instructing the driver seem to be nonsense - Button was penalised trying to get his brakes sorted ffs!

On balance, the previous Silverstone event was a lot more enjoyable. I am happy with DC and Susie Wolff in the line up as they know their stuff, although Steve Jones is still a spare part.

Agreed the rules around what a driver can be told and where is just daft. These days its very much a team effort so why cant the pit crew radio the driver that a component is failing etc and needs to alter his driving style. Jules

You are right, there are more overtakes in the first 3 corners of a Superbike race than in the whole season of Formula One. The popularity of Formula One is universal as most people can drive a car. Bike racing generally tends to be popular with people who have ridden or do ride bikes . In this country most people would struggle to name a top bike racer , and struggle even more to name a current UK rider in Moto GP. How different that is from Spain and Italy.

If Hamilton could put a pass on someone at the last corner like Marquez or Rossi do every time out it might be a more interesting competition. 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

I have all but given up on F1 as it's so predictable now. I just watch Q3 qualifying and 90% of the time it will give you the final race placing. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

The Hungoraring Circuit is always a bit of a boring race, nature of the circuit. Ecclestone should retire and Jean Todt should follow him, the restricted radio rules are his idea.

The racing is a bit boring but the aggro between Hamilton and Rosberg looks set to get interesting.

F1 isn't boring, it isn't nearly interesting enough to be boring.

No idea why its allegedly so popular.

Touring car, Rallying, etc, smashing, even some of the lower GT racing, but F1? Nah

I only watch the first lap of a race to watch the crashes - rest of the race is boring.

Need to put a hairpin bend on the first corner tho..... Whistle
