CHIPPING

I am pretty sure that Land Rover dealers used to chip TD5 demonstrators because they were so slow (especially auto's) that nobody would have bought one! Any ex Land Rover employees out there like to support this?

Hi Jatko
I intend to do chip tunning on my 2.2 TD4-auto.
What is your tunning - ECU software update or add-on chip?
Please share positive and negative effects! Your car is auto....how does it cope with the extra power and torque?

All real time impressions will be welcomed! Thumbs Up

United Kingdom 2012 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Stornoway Grey

I have used an add on box on both my Freelanders, both from the same company. There is a marked increase in acceleration which is handy for overtaking. It does not increase the top speed of the vehicle. I ususally only drop to 4th or 5th gear for overtaking. You also get an extra 3 -4 mpg. The web address of the company I bought mine from: http://www.dieselchiptuning.com

Very Happy Very Happy

Hi npinks!
I actually did contact them....
But they do remap....but i was told that add on device is better, since you could uninstall it when visit the dealers...
and the remap is more expensive than an add-on unit (this is so strange...i should be vice versa)

Germany 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Stornoway Grey

Hi Nick,
Landrover Germany has established a long lasting cooperation with Matzker KFZ-Technik, Koeln, E-mail: "www.matzker.de". Matzker offers Chiptuning for our Freely 2 TD4 (with or without DPF), based on the data as supplied by Landrover. As per my knowledge, Matzker tuned TD4's will not loose the original LR-Guarantee. If you speak/read German, you may read the testreport(s) of the Matzkers chip-tuning in the Magazin "Off Road" - "www.off-road.de".

Hi YF
This company was recomended to me by the LR dealer in Germany.
Unfortunately their tuning makes the warranty void, too.
And the price is 3 time higher than the others and achieving 50% lower figures...
I saw a test report for their tuning but i would say my German is not as good as my English, alas Smile
