Oh dear. They're my dealer and who I bought the car from. Mines nearly 3 years old so fingers crossed. I'm wondering if it's worth taking out extended warranty regardless at its 3rd service. |

Bradford.... they have been good over the years as I've had 6 or 7 LR's now... but they have got daft of late ... more bothered about meeting you in the car park and offering you endless drink instead of offering a good value, worthwhile service... can't be doing with all that faff!!....

Mines Leeds and they've been good so far. They've done all the servicing etc so if I get extended warranty it should be plain sailing??? We'll see |

After my family's experiences I wouldn't consider owning an FL2 without an extended warranty. They are nice cars but far too fragile. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

When I bought my extended warranty from Duckworth's there was no cost for the inspection (which it passed). They do get commission on the warranty sale you know!

Not sure about the commission bit and the inspection is only necessary if it hasn't recently been serviced at a dealer. When I was last at the LR dealers for a service I asked if there was any benefit for them arranging another year's extended warranty as I had just received the paperwork, they said no and best thing is just organise it yourself online. I bought the full extended plus LR assist £945 which I pay in 10 monthly installments. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

unfortunate but just another example of a dealer determined to extort money from a customer no matter what.

Whatever you do, take out the extended warranty. It's a land rover. Mine was about to run out and i ummed and arred, but i paid and thought better safe than sorry. six weeks ago the dreaded transmission fault traction reduced message flashed up. I then got it to Grange land rover in welwyn, who said it was a pump [Haldex]. They will need it for three to four days. i have just got off the phone with them saying it's the Haldex pump and they need permission from the warranty people to get the part and start the repair. Take out the extended warranty. |

Not sure of your mileage and year but I had my Haldex serviced at 3 years instead of taking out warranties. Not a job that should be more than a few hours not days. Hope they gave you a car. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

I did not get a car as they said they could get me in quicker. But to be honest Yorkie, i think you have more chance of riding a unicorn than riding a courtesy car. |
