One of the more annoying things about the FL2 is that you cant just open the door, pop the key in the ignition and open the windows, you have to physically start the thing the same applies when the system times out.

can this nonsense be changed?

1984 90 undergoing full restoration.

No need to start the engine - just insert the key and press the start button for a few seconds without pressing the clutch/brake and the ignition will come on. Press again to turn off.

Alternatively you can open all the windows by pressing and holding the unlock button on the remote. (Similarly press and hold lock button to lock car and close any open windows.)

Yes I do that but ................ Had a BMW with this system years ago and had no idea it was fitted. Got up one morning to find all the car windows open. Ask the BMW garage whats going on they had no idea .  FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years
