Australia 2007 Freelander 2 i6 SE Auto Tambora Flame

FYI, this was fixed by replacing the steering lock solenoid.

The whole job cost $1200 which wasn't bad considering the parts were $700 and apparently it needed the steering column removed and the new part to be coded to the car.

I have had this twice over the last few weeks so not very happy to hear your solution cost Sad

I managed to get it started by pushing the car in neutral slightly moving the steering wheel a bit

When it does finally work you can defo hear the steering lock come off.

I would have said its definately something to do with the steering lock but now I am confused that you said starter solenoid

Whoops, that was a typo, definitely the steering lock solenoid.

Let us know how you go.... 1st time FL2 owner. 2007 SE i6 in Tambora Flame.
