RIP Topgear, last night was terrible, I thought CE had said that he would revamp the show so it actually was about cars rather then the antics of its presenters? From the opening credits it was clearly obvious that the show was basically going to be the same format as it used to be and even had Chris Evans chanting Clarksons lines throughout - CE was terrible, Matt Le Blank was just as bad, there is no chemistry between them and without Clarkson, Hammond and May the format of Top Gear will not work, be honest they made the show, without them it cannot carry on in its current format, I fell asleep 40 minutes in - NEVER did that with the original show!!

Can anyone remember the first episode of Top Gear with Clarkson, Hammond and May? Did all three presenters hit it off straight away? Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

Yes, he was. James May came back to Top Gear to replace him in Series 2, Episode 1. |

Totally agree that CE was way OTT and needs to calm down. (Though I've heard that he had already admitted that himself & said that he was way to excited).

Was it just me or was last night's episode much better than the previous one?

It was much better, yes, mainly because there was less of CE! Still far too silly though - particularly that stunt with the cocktails where everyone cheated anyway - pointless.

Better than last week but CE is still way too shouty and some of the stunts a bit silly. If they got rid of Evans and Matt did more of the presenting it would be more bearable. Probably should have revamped the whole show rather than just the star in a reasonably priced car. |

Much better than last weeks show, then that wouldn't have been hard to do. I find that Extra Gear (on straight after it on BBC iPlayer) is much better . Well presented and much more informative, the way the main show format should have been, instead of a poor rehash of the original which was already well by it's sell by date. |

I thought last night programme was definitely better than the first one. Liked the bit on TG extra when they were chucking the Hoonigan car around Fords at Dagenham. Took a few takes to get it right so my son (who works there) told me. Oh, and there's even a FL2 in the shot at 11:20 on the Breca, brecca, brekka whatever! lol. http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p03x0...-episode-3 Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

I found last nights show much better, Matt le Plank is winning me over and seems more at home as a presenter than Chris Evans who seems as though he is being pushed into the corner somewhat. Nice to see different people testing the cars as well. Only complaint from me was the speeding through the streets of London in that 'thing', there was no information about the car, its power, top speed etc etc, they seemed no purpose to the scene to it. |
