Despite owning my TD4 Auto for well over a year, I attempted to use cruise control for the very first time this week ...... setting it at 70mph. It didnt work at all.

All I did was to press the set button on the steering wheel, when I reached 70mph. Is there more to its operation than that, or is it malfunctioning? Life is not a dress rehearsal!

I think you have to turn it on first (light comes on) then press the set or + button. 07 Freelander 2 TD4SE Tambora Flame, side steps, privacy glass, mud flaps, boot liner and a tow bar. Ok it's the Wifes but she lets me drive it occasionally - if I've been good!

Mine seems to require an extra press or two of the buttons as if the buttons arn't quite working. The channel up/down button on the wheel is similar  At work

You press and hold the + button when you are at the speed you want. It's the holding that's important. There is no on switch. Cancel by pressing the O button at the bottom left, and resume by pressing the button above the O. Freelander 2 TD4 HSE auto Tonga Green/Alpaca

press the + button for a couple of seconds to switch it on and set the speed

+ or - will then increase/decrease the speed by something like 1mph

The bottom button 'O' switches it off, so does the pressing of a brake or clutch, or lifting the handbrake

Then pressing the 'O' will reinstate the previous set speed

I have now managed to make it work, though it still seems a little temperamental. There also seem to be a minimum speed below which it will not set; like really slow, 10 - 15 mph. It did seem to work at 20mph, which is I find is a very difficult speed limit to observe!! Life is not a dress rehearsal!

i think it is less about speed and more about revs, i often have to change from sixth to fifth to get it to set 

In my Auto just one press of the set button and it is done and it maintains the set speed when shifting up or down.

I found the system very easy to use on the LR2 and one of the most simple I've come across (still can't work the Porsche one very well!).......but maybe that's because it is an auto then? Once you've tasted GREY you'll never go back!

I understand that Cruise Control will only work at 18mph or above. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

the channel i noticed it on was my preset station 1 which is Radio 1 (98.9fm), the radio tuned itself to a stronger signal 99.1fm

to change my preset 1 to preset 2

1 press puts it back to 98.9fm (the saved station freq) then then it moves to preset 2 Radio Aire etc etc Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis
