on the pre MY13 I thought it was take it to the dealers to be enabled/disabled but on the MY13 onwards where the screens are linked into the car then I think its available on the car customisations screen on the dashboard.

check the manual and see what it says.......

Some of us are more helpful than the others.

Its in the settings. Its now up to you to find out how. Rolling with laughter

I didn't say I was one of the more helpful ones did I?

i am not trying to stop it locking when driving off, that is an easy fix, and as i have read the handbook i switched that off straight away. I am talking about it self locking when i leave it unlocked on the drive for a while then go back to carry on unloading the car and it has locked again. this happened a few times last night, my first night with this car, i am worried about locking the keys in at some point.

The only time my MY13 self locks is when I have unlocked it on the Fob and then not opened a door withing a few minutes.

My own knowledge goes this far - assuming you have left it open after just getting out of the car it should remain open until you close it on the Fob by using one or two presses. So you should not be able to lock in the keys from my experience barring just opening the boot (not whole car) on the Fob throwing in the shopping and KEYS and closing the boot. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

yes that's right open the tailgate part unload, close the tail gate ,go in the house put keys down put stuff away, return to the tailgate and its locked ,go in ,get keys unlock car lift tail gate and repeat. tail gate locked again on its own, is there not an override for this ?

That's normal on most cars nowdays. Our Golf did it (salesman warned us not to leave keys in boot if only opening boot) and our Evoque does it. Mind you, being a keyless model, we can't close the boot with the keys inside. As said, unlock the whole car. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto
