I don' want to sound patronising but ae you sure you have a wheel bearing problem? One of our FL2s was making a wheel bearing type noise so when it went in for a service I asked them to have a look. The dealer said definitely a rear wheel bearing, book it in and we will change it under warranty. So I booked it in and then I had a call to say that it wasn't the bearing after all, it was tyre noise so I put two new tyres on and the noise had gone.

Haven't done a FL2 bearing but looking at pictures of bearings online, they appear to be solid ones so with this type of setup I'd say you need to first smash out the flange (which will probably leave a part of the bearing still on it). You'll need to remove this carefully. You'll then need to press the rest of the bearing out of the hub. Refitting is the reversal of removal but you must remember to support the rear inner bearing race when pressing the flange back on. Fairly easy if you have the right tools. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

I can confirm that is the wheel bearing as we have swapped the tyres around to confirm that it is not tyres.

It is a relatively straight forward job if you have the right gear. You will need a decent press to remove/install the brg in the hub + a decent torque wrench. I found this the most difficult/time consuming part, as I had to make a tool for the job. http://www.freel2.com/forum/topic24476.html Good luck ![]() Nick (Now Sold). 2008 Freelander 2 (Nazca Sand) SE TD4 Auto.
