TonyJ, whilst that is entirely correct, the problem comes when you claim via your insurance company, they may well agree to write your vehicle off, should you wish to keep the vehicle and without it becoming listed as a write off, you would need to close all claims via your company and institute a direct claim with the third party insurance company, irrespective of the value of your car, they are duty bound to pay for any car that is a direct replacement whatever the cost. I rather suspect that is why Direct Line has this replacement vehicle supply option, it's far cheaper than arguing as they have the buying power at various auctions. my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis
