United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Tambora Flame

Rolling Eyes

Seems mental to me.....

Not sure what having "dealer plates" is gaining you/your wife.

If your local dealer could issue them loose across the counter then that's fine. But they can't/won't.

Putting any kind of effort over and above a trip to the local motor factors, Halfords, or going on the interweb seems a total waste of time and money.

Strange.......

I am sure that the "dealer plates" will impress the neighbours.

Many years ago my brother bought a used car, about 6 months old and with about 5k miles on it. He told his wife it was brand new. I said "but won't she see the mileage on it?" he said "no she would never notice anything like that" - and true enough she didn't ! Shocked Shocked 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

I didn't have the log book, and the car was still on its previous private reg (long story)

In Scotland autosave would make plates up without any documentation provided until a few years ago when the law was also passed up here. Halfords in the other case has always specified documentations as they are an English company operating in Scotland. MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior

You could have at least said that they are for off-road use only Rolling with laughter I used to make plates up and the police wouldn't bat an eye lid on that plate tbh up here in Scotland. Illegal spacing/font etc is all they're caring about! MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior

When I replaced the original plates with my personal number, I sourced a set from eBay. Excellent plates, correct sizes for the car (with larger rear plate), border, GB panel and very discrete suppliers details. All totally legal, officer. Did not even have to supply V5 or whatever. Not that the Police bother with such trivia nowadays - more an MOT job Rolling Eyes Really cannot see the point of paying through the nose for dealer plates which add no value at all. 10MY (Sept 09) TD4 HSE Auto in Stornoway Grey (Now Gone)

Honesty is the best policy Laughing

The Disco has the dealer supplied plates on, that's the only dealer advertising on the car they gave up putting stickers in the Windows of cars with privacy glass. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

United Kingdom 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Izmir Blue

I had personalised ones including one for the caravan made up at my dealer, Hunters, without any problems to self fit, all the required was normal documentation and their record book signed. The correct rear one on the Freelander is not standard size. Remember there are never problems, just new challenges

You are only allowed the approved regional symbols on the far right hand side which are Scotland,England,Wales,GB or the EU flag. Also the plate is missing the suppliers name and BS number. MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior
