Pretty sure there is not. The road tax is slightly cheaper due to this function however that increased by £25 in the year I have had it.

Thanks. No tax implications in this part of the world and it's just irritating so I wondered if it can be done away with. It's not actually my own vehicle I am trying to find out for somebody else who has got one. |

The cost of diesel has nowt to do with the environment, it's what comes out the exhaust pipe and what gets pushed into the atmosphere is the air I breath as well as his.

It would be an awful long time before you breathed his or my exhaust fumes in East Yorkshire |

LR lent me a TD4e during my last mugging, sorry, service! I feel I might be getting a reputation for being simple, but I'm sure all I had to do was press an e-mode switch on the dash to toggle the stop/start on and off. The novelty soon wore off and it therefore remained off for the rest of the day. This was a manual shift car so don't know what happens on auto. I think manual had to be in neutral with hand-brake on for it to activate. |

Eco Stop Start is currently only fitted to the manual. |

Hands up! I should have fully read the previous posts (however, I did hint that I was not always there). I suspect the designer of the system lives in the same village as me, where the crossing gates at the local railway station (on the London-Portsmouth line) are usually closed to road traffic for over 30 minutes in every hour. It's one of those 'do I or don't I' decisions to stop the engine. At least the TD4-e makes the decision for you so that when the gates are closed for over 10 minutes (quite normal) you can feel smug but when it is only 30 seconds (we wish!) you can question the parentage of the LR2 designers. I'm off on a complimentary LR Experience course next week (and boy, do I need it!) so I might ask an 'expert' if they know. |

Found this thread as its one of those things that irritates me about my FL2. Nobody seems to have answered the question.

You just need a Renault like my B in L. He has stop start and one of these smart alternators, it's been back three times because it won't stop start most of the time. According to the mechanic the last time it was in the stop start needs at least 80% charge in the battery to work but the smart alternator is only charging the battery to 75% in normal daytime running and they don't know how to change it. Mine, Saab convertible

Disconnecting the BMS wire at battery would do the trick, will show ECO fault, but then so will any other method 2014 SE Loire Blue SD4 Auto (MY15)
