When I joined the forum in November I was asking if it's possible to fit a past 2013 steering wheel into an older (in my case 2008) Freelander 2. The answers I received is that it's not possible, someone tried and failed.

It was a gamble because Colin still could not guarantee that it would work. But looking at LR parts catalog and figuring out that the Disco 3 steering wheel buttons are exactly the same parts as the FL2 buttons I did go for the gamble, with success. |

As mentioned in the first post the conversion kit is sold by Black Box Solutions (BBS) although I did not see it listed on their website at the moment. They also sell on Ebay but are out of stock at the moment See Ebay item no eBay Item No. 331289813499 I did think about doing this conversion myself a few months ago and contacted them to ask if their kit would allow a later model heated wheel to be fitted to an earlier model and they replied that it was not suitable so did not get any further with it. Also most people on the forum said it could not be done except for a member in Russia (I think) that managed it with a modified clockspring. I did not find this thread during the many searches I did at the time which is a pity as I think I would have had a go at doing it if I had. Might have a go depending on how you get on! |

I can see just one problem... you've fitted it to the wrong side of the car! πππ |

We drive on the right side, nothing more to say here. @Morayjohny A few month ago Colin from BBS still had some stock of the conversion boards, try to contact him via email or negotiate a good price with RICHARD. |
