Scotland 2013 Freelander 2 SD4 GS Auto Fuji White
Key Fob Battery

I had a warning come up on display, "key fob battery low" on our 2013 MY. Checked handbook and found battery replacement very simple. We had 2032 batteries for kitchen scales and I changed both in less than 10 minutes. Warning extinguished as soon as I entered car and pressed start button.
OH should everything else be so easy??? All FL2's (3) Gone
2011 Mercedes C180 CGI Gone
FL2 GS Auto SD with heated leather, factory tints, alloy spare and a few other bits.

Yes mine too flashed up again quite soon after I changed it. I put it down to using an oldish (but unused) battery I had lying around - almost impossible to buy just one of these. I've put a brand new one in now so I'll see if it lasts any longer.
Btw battery replacement is fully explained in the owner's handbook. The fob for the MY2013 onwards is completely different from the earlier ones - this thread only applies to MY13 onwards! Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone
300TDi Disco (bought new - terrible car) sent back after 18 months
Freelander 1 Estate - leased, given back at end of lease
200TDi Disco (bought from a mate with 100,000 on the clock) - Gone
Disco 2 TD5 - sold and exported to France
FR2 TD4 GS - Gone
FR2 SD4 HSE - Now changed for a DS
New model ex-demo Evoque S 180 in white
Unable to order a new DS, so gave up. Now have a Volvo S90 Recharge.

Changed mine out just over 3 weeks ago, did both at the same time. When it flashed up the warning I was out and about and had visions of it not starting, didn't remember the battery type so had to wait until next day.

Seems like 2 to 2 1/2 years is about the lifetime for daily usage.
