just been quoted £817 by LR dealer to change discs and pads all round

£289 for the front
£527.90 for the rear (now that seriously shocks me!)

just checked on Eurocar parts and I can get Brembo discs and pads for under £200....... LR charging £600 for fitting is disgusting unless im missing out on something here

needless to say I wont be getting them replaced there.

Does that also include new handbrake shoes?

currently waiting on a call back from my usual trusted indy on the cost. I would expect around 350 - 400

however when I had the discs/pads replaced all round on my D2 it cost £240 all in using britpart components.

Fitting the rears is a doddle - see my earlier posts
I got my parts online from EuroParts (quote "new10" for 10% discount) and then collect in store

Hatfield LandRover Hull, mine is booked in for new rear discs and pads, after refusing first quote of £325 we ended up at £285. Still dearer than an indy but reasonable for a dealer, and will go with it as still under warranty.

EDIT: I spent many years repairing my cars, now I can't be arsed, plus I can afford to pay someone else to do it

Come on now, you should be able to this yourself. Brakes are an easy job, there is plenty of advice around on this forum and even if it takes all day (including tea and lunch breaks) where else will you earn £600/day after tax? 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

The standard britpart discs are good and dirt cheap 2008 xs

raised axle/gearbox breathers
Mantec tank guard
Cb radio
Blanked EGR
Sump guard

interesting that people have dealer quotes for the rear brakes 1/2 of what I have been quoted.

I appreciate that its supposed to be an easy job, however I don't have the time, the tools or the confidence to do it all myself.

Ive been quoted £460 for all 4 corners to be done using Bosch parts, but im going to contact another guy ive used locally as I believe he uses Britpart for all his LR work (he is a LR and Audi specialist but really only older LR)

Personally, I would avoid Britpart
