AAMOI, I've just watched the Powerful UK video on replacing front discs and they appeared to re-use the old caliper bolts. Similarly, posts here never seem to refer to replacing the caliper bolts. But the Topix manual says the following:
So is the manual being over-cautious, or should the bolts be replaced if the caliper is removed? What do you do? |

The reason that sometimes they supply new bolts is that they come with the blue locking compound already on them. If you buy a tube of loctite or similar you can use the old bolts again. I have done this for years on various cars and never had a problem. We did my son's Porsche 911 brakes last year and they wanted £5 per bolt, we just used Loctite and no problems. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
