i too had an opportunity today to test drive a DS . I agree entirely with LR Nut, the DS is very disappointing and has more in common with a cheap Audi/BMW/Porch(!) than a proper Landrover. It is claustrophobic inside and cheaply but gimmically (is this a word?) finished. I think JLR have lost the plot!

Lol, I think you will find that this is a "cost option" and will only work in those vehicles which have the Land Rover "InControl" PRO active. This means the car is connected to a telco of which there is an ongoing subscription you have to pay to Land Rover for the convenience of being connected to the network. If you don't pay for this option or the ongoing subscription then the two buttons in the console won't work. Nope, it's a standard feature or at least it was when I had one. It expires 3 years after registration then there's a charge but all cars come with Incontrol. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200 |

well I had no emergency services chasing me down and ive not had a complaint from the dealership since, so im guessing/hoping that the buttons were disabled in the dealership on the courtesy cars |

Apps is an option (waste of money IMO) which is only part of incontrol, incontrol remote is standard 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200 |

agreed, most, if not all the apps are a waste of time at present, though its definitely a space to watch.

I do hope LR improve the flaws in the DS, it's a nice looking car but I think the Jaguar F-Pace is light years ahead. Perhaps that's not a fair comparison. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200 |

Not fair comparison agreed. F-pace is on new Alu rich D7a platform, not ancient steel Ford EUCD platform, albeit stronger, and redesigned rear suspension to allow extra 2 seats, and improved engine mounts now not hampered with needing space for i6 engine.

I was speaking more in terms of interior refinement.

Well after having the Evoque for 6months we decided it wasn't quite big enough after the FL2 so we traded in this morning for a new DS Auto SE Tech 180 in Corris , I was happy with the driving position and visability after the test drive and felt it was an improvement over the Evoque .
