Anyone any news on the supposedly / allegedly forthcoming mini disco sport - The Disco Sport GT Bushbeast or Turissimo or something, such a thing was rumoured a few months ago I think. Too much to hope it'll be a 'ruggedised' version I expect.  FL2 Ex D2, D3, RRS, etc. now all gone.

Well it would be a major new platform or shared with someone else. Economics make it doubtful for some years. FL2 11 S Black 😂

There is one on its way. It should be out before the next Defender in 2018/19

Platform would be shared with Evoque or DS. The D5 is using the D7u platform as per the FFRR and RRS2 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

I think other sites got in first, I offered to mod on Discosport but nothing was said, Nick and I did a lot of testing before it went live, Martin seems more interested in the big Disco, indeed, a number of domain names are already registered.
Maybe when the next Disco is launched things will perk up?

Just dropped my 2010MY HSE auto off at LR for its 6 yr/75k service and been loaned a 65 plate DS HSE 2.0 TD4 manual.

It's seems better put together than the 2.2 DS I drove on a sales event but I just don't like the driving position. The armrest is too low for me (I'm 6'3") and my left knee sits too high against the centre console. Also the seat base doesn't seem as long as my FL2 so my legs don't get as much support.
Average mpg is showing as 33 which I would have expected to be much higher considering its the ingenium engine.

On the plus side it is quiet, smooth on the motorway, although a little crashy round town.
The sound system is good as is the hands free but a little fiddly to get used to.
All the other little toys in there are nice, and I like the huge storage hole behind the gear stick.
One question though, what are the 2 buttons on the centre roof console? (Not the lights or the electric blind switch) they have spring loaded covers over a red lit switch and a white lit switch.

Would I have one?????? ........... no, they don't feel comfortable to me and I'm not overly impressed for the money they cost.

I had the pleasure of driving the DS a few weeks back and it's like chalk and cheese. The Freelander is a far better machine overall IMAO. The only thing I liked about it was that the rear camera can be activated whilst car is in forward motion and the fact that the road speed is displayed on the sat nav screen (my Road Angel does this so no big issue for me as such).

The command view is bloody terrible! I always drive with my seat down and not pumped up at all. Pumping the seat up in any car gives a false sense of command view. I'm 5ft 9" and my FL2 along with my FL1 have excellent command view with the seats at their lowest setting. In the DS with the seats dropped down I could not even see what car I was driving which is probably a good thing
