Norwegian Fjords - Hurtigruten

Just wondering how many have heard of Hurtigruten? It's a Norwegian shipping line that runs small ships (about 200 passengers) up and down the Norwegian Coast. There are about a dozen ships and they are run like a bus service for the remote towns and villages up and down the Norwegian coast up to Kirkeness (near Russia) The ships stop two three times a day to drop stuff off and pick stuff (and people) up. Some of the stops are for only 20 minutes or a couple of hours but being small you get to see places that the giant cruise ships can't get to. There is absolutely no entertainment or dressing up and you are not allowed to eat at the captain's table so it's the opposite of what most cruise liners offer. We went last year and found it fascinating and plan to go again, I know of one couple who have been 7 times! 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Tambora Flame

We went over Christmas this year and it was just perfect. We went for a suite cabin which was well worth the extra and I would recommend that if you like a bit of space, like we do. Food was excellent and there was plenty to choose from. We stopped off and did some site seeing, dog sledging, etc. The scenery was just stunning. If you want the casino, glamour, glitz, etc. then this not for you, if you want a relaxing break, great food, stunning views, great service, then I can highly recommend it.
We plan to go again in a couple of years we enjoyed it that much.
