Sold my 08 reg one two years ago with 99.4k on it and no problems. The three that the family bought after that have had lots of problems at much lower mileages. Only one 11 reg remains at 70k and still wondering whether to extend warranty and keep it for another year. Problem is that I can't get excited about buying anything else. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
5 x FL2 4 manual + 1 auto
Now Discovery Sport P250 MHEV SE

i'm at 125k miles and no significant issues.
Generally i prefer high mileage cars, let someone else sort all the issues before i get it Wink
Last 3 landrovers have all been circa 100k when I've got them

160k miles and .........
been an expensive year, 150K service (timing belt etc., auto box, both diffs, and IRD box oil changes) front knuckle (bearing gone), front discs & pads, rear pads, three door locks!, battery, motorised valve in air intake - and that's what I can remember.
And yesterday it looks like the IRD gearbox has gone, whether it has taken out the auto gearbox output shaft (and therefore the auto gearbox) only a strip down will tell.

Wonder what she will be like towing the van in 2 wheel drive?

Soo getting grief from her indoors, told you it was getting old, paints badly faded (rubbish respray), seats cracked, interior looking tired - time for an ewok.
Over my dead body
A Disco sport is neither a Disco (no air suspension), nor a Sport - spritely possibly, but definitely not a sport, so no to the Disco sport.
Range Rover Sport - do I look like a drug dealer, or farmer?
Range Rover - nice but I would be looking at an old version, with highish mileage - even more expensive to fix.
Ahh a Disco 4, now that would be nice, but her indoors hates them as they look like vans, some people have no taste.

Ok fix the Freelander and sell the wife, problem solved. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
Replaced by Ewok what a mistake - now a happy Disco Sport owner

Re: High mileage FL's?

We own a 58 FL TD4s, now with 92k on the clock.
Now she needs a new clutch kit & dmf. Have spent a lot on her over the last 3 years of ownership & only covered 26k.
Some of the parts bought:- Rear diff pinion bearing repair. Front wheel bearing/hub. Throttle body motor. Rear brake calliper. 12v Battery. New key fob. Front & rear set of pads & discs. 8 tyres. Spare wheel & tyre, jack. As didn't come with one from new. 3 fuel filters.
Time to part ex her I'm afraid. Landy has now gone.

Seems to be a mixed bag and not exactly inspiring if I'm honest! My Audi A6 with 170k miles has only needed a front wheel bearing in the past 35k miles (over and above wear and tear items such as brake pads and tyres) and my 150k Mile A2 has only just started to get costly with new starter motor, down pipe and front struts in last year. I have seen a few higher mile FL's which I am tempted with IF they have detailed history but suspect will need to squirrel away a £grand or so for the unexpected. eh tu?

Ahh but when did the Audi last go wading? or launch off ramps at speed and get a good meter under the wheels? tow a fully loaded VW van out of a ditch? or drive away after some poor unfortunate soul rammed you in the rear at well over 90mph (actually had to drive off his bonnet, then tow him out of the outside lane)? Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her

I dont need my Audi to wadE! What I do need is 4wd traction and weight so I can tow my c/van. I had an FL2 a couple of years ago but was very disappointed in build quality compared with Audi and dealer service when I broke down in France was unacceptable - along the lines of ' come back next week'....... My son has both an RR sport and an Evoque so I am not unfamiliar with the brand benefits. eh tu?
