Dunno the correct answer but my thoughts would be that the glass in the sunroof is thicker than the tin of a roof. Will the glass conduct heat quicker than a bit of tin? No idea. However the tin roof will have a full length liner providing extra insulation. The sunroof may have the screens that pull across which could provide an element of insulation. So which is better? Still no idea. However if you stuff a bit of expanded polystyrene between the sunroof and the pull across screen I recon that would be better. Alternatively keep the whole car in a heated garage FL2 Metropolis, Loire Blue, ebony/ivory |

Pretty obvious that a solid roof has insulation under the metal roof versus a single sheet of glass. that's without discussions about black body radiation and Boltzman's constant of course. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

I've had both, didn't notice much difference, especially when I pulled my big insulated blind over. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200 |

Wife's last car had big double sunroof and retractable blinds, my previous was a convertible with a good level of insulation.. I can't say I noticed one being colder than the other. Until I took the roof off. Current has full metal roof.car stays outside and still feels cold at silly o clock in the morning.
