Anyone out there like me off with how this event has been taken over by the retailers?

For me it's all about selling cards and tacky gifts, everything is commercialised these days.

All these events are now commercial, Mothers Day, Father Days, Grandma, etc etc, its designed to boost the sales between duff times of the year, thats why Christmas is when it is, because its cold and not much sun, folk start being depressed otherwise, none of it is to do with religion at all, all of them just something dreamt up years ago by someone wanting the cash in during the slack times when no ones really interested in doing anything. |
