Problem with upgrading; Windows does not update all the device drivers if the one it's trying to replace is newer, try removing the wifi driver in device manager and re-boot the system and let windows decide. If you have an Intel WiFi card remove the Intel configeration software first it's not needed.

Replace the bios and look at how the hard drive is handled within the bios, it says hard disc 2, are two disks competing on boot or do they both have Windows files on the,? That would wreak havoc. |

Strange thing is I only have one hard drive installed which is a clone of the original.

How did you clone it? Does the original disc still work OK? I have just cloned a drive onto an SSD using Macrium Reflect (freeby) and it worked fine but I had to mess about with partitions using Easus Partition Master Free to get it going properly. I would be thinking about reformatting your new drive and re-cloning. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto 5 x FL2 4 manual + 1 auto Now Discovery Sport P250 MHEV SE |

Mrs G's laptop seemed to decide to download 10 on its own. All is well with it, it even auto connects to wifi , something it would never do on 8 no matter how many times I told it to, also it now skips the login password after sleeping which again windows 8 insisted on despite been told 100 times.

Had a couple of Windows 10 problems this week on two different computers. I have upgraded quite a few to Win 10 now with few problems although the guy next door had his take nearly 3 days to complete. However, last night one of my computers suddenly lost it's connection to the router and on inspection in Device Manager I found that the wifi adapter had lost it's drivers. I connect via a network cable and checked for updates and a big update came through Update for Windows 10 (Version 1511 for x64-based Systems (KB3140741)) and low and behold the wifi adapter started working again. I have also had a couple of instances where the sound drivers on a PC have been zapped and had to be reinstalled. It looks as if some updates are zapping drivers for some reason. Has anyone else seen anything like this? 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

My windows 10 HP envy 700-060ea pc seams to lose the drivers on occasion to which I traced the cause to the windows driver updater program which updates to a corrupt driver. I have downloaded Driver booster 3 which updates all the outdated drivers this also overrides Microsoft Corrupt downloads.
