All these modern cars need a burn out say a least every month. Once you get it up and running again be best to do that if most of your motoring is short trips. Thumbs Up

Update. I have had my car in to an indi garage in regards to this issue as it started happening a lot more to the point were the car would just not start they put it through a diagnostic and came up with the results that it could be one of two things. So they advised to change the fual filter added dpf and changed the throttle body assembly but have said if this didnt work it would be the crank shaft sensor well i had the car back for a few days and it was working fine but it started again so i assume it is the sensor any advice on how long it would take to do a repair for this and were i can source the part or any further advice would be nice.

Hi, crank sensor is fairly easy to access through the drivers side front wheel arch. If you search for "crank sensor" on this forum there are a number of threads. No idea on cost of part but I had the wheel arch guards off mine and removed and cleaned sensor which took about 45 minutes. If you are handy with tools easily done yourself.

Might be worth just removing, cleaning and a squirt of contact cleaner first. Seems to have worked for a few members.

Cheers, JGH99. Freelander 2 GS Stornoway Grey
