There are a few clues. Apart from it saying Australia the dimensions are metric, & we don't drive manuals! Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

Can't ... The word is can't drive manuals Thumbs Up

It's amazing that a model no longer made is getting more attention than the new one.
Maybe LR Should do a limited edition and bring it back .... Hmm I can see this developing and needing its own thread.

Edit : Freelander reborn stuff in here not in this topic Thumbs Up

I am just a bit OCD about these things. This is my first Freelander and I need to know what I have got and what else I might be missing! The absence of DAB niggles me.
And in answer to why older models often have more followers well, my other car is an 2002 S8 and these have a serious following as its just a superb car.

Previous car!

Which trim level do I own: Timber, no DAB, but has exhaust pipe lighter!

It's only the millenniums who can't drive manuals, but there are no manuals to learn on! Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

So I have TD4 E!!

TOPIX helped, and showed me all that you can have and all that the 'E' doesn't get Sad

In the end I kind of figured it out by looking up known 'S' and 'E' models and comparing build list (TOPIX). Having said that, some I looked up that had xenon fitted, still stated halogen on the build list, so maybe specific customer ordered upgrades don't get picked up on the TOPIX stock build list.

Love the way it's so brutal, no marketing Censored here; DELETE - dash trim, DELETE - DAB radio, DELETE - centre consol, Seats - BASE, Radio - BASE, ha, ha!!

In the end it was the missing headlamp washers, front parking sensors and non folding door mirrors that led me to the 'E' spec.

Interesting, many non main dealers selling Freelander 2's are claiming the wrong spec. Unless it says 'S' or 'E' on the back, they are just claiming any spec (strange). In the Parkers or Glasses guide equivalent here there is obviously a fair price difference between trim levels. Guess it might be a good idea to trade mine in at a none main dealer when I come to change - chances are I probably won't go with another Freelander (Discovery Sport) due to family's needs.

Most of the stuff on my car I don't use. Parking sensors I turn off because of the irritating sound, but then again I can actually park a car unlike most people in Sydney!

The car I bought was all I could get, Petrol being number one priority & white paint being number 2. I could have got another petrol car in a different colour & with a lot of extras for the same money. But for me my 2 main requirements were fulfilled & didn't need electric everything.

Head lamp washers are a waste of time, I think they are simply there for a technicality. Unless they have wipers what is the point of them. I use a squeegee which is also handy for condensation for the rest of the windows without wipers! Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

Agree completely.

As I drive lots through the woods at night (in Sweden in winter it gets dark around 15:00 where I live) so I have 3 130mm daylighter lamps mounted in front of the grill - no xenons can compete with those bad boys Wink

As for rear parking sensors, they are so slow to activate after selecting reverse, often I can have backed out and started to move forwards before they even realise I wanted to reverse - seriously, they are dangerously slow if you rely on them.

Only option I love is the winter pack - heated screen, washer jets and seats - we can have minus 25C to minus 30C in the winter, these things are a boon.
