EY - you have said you now have fitted 255/60/18 tyres on Evoque 18's and your spare is 235/64/18 also on and Evoque 18'' wheel.

Interesting post - got the same wheels on mine - where did you get a spare for £20? No Longer the owner of a 2013MY Fuji White GS

I just searched eBay for Evoque alloys and found a bloke wanting a starting bid of £25 but no one had bid yet, he happily took £20 paid immediately to make space in his garage! Just lucky I suppose. The tyre was a belter with 6mm left, no repairs or punctures nor scrapes and only £5.00!

There's always the option of storing an oversized wheel/tyre (in radius) by semi deflating the tyre and using a compressor to pump up if/when required to be used.

A few years ago a friend of mine's wife was visiting someone out in the wilds in a disco and on her way home felt that the car was doing strange things and saw that she had a flat tyre so she drove home about 15 miles on it! By the time she got home the tyre was almost non existent and the alloy wheel was completely wrecked. He was not a happy bunny ! 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Hi there there is no rubbing with those size tires at! The only spare wheel you can fit though is that 235, any larger than that and the width pushes up the boot floor, so by getting the 235 but with a bigger radius the rolling circumference stays the same as with the 255 but allows the spare to fit flush Into the spare wheel well in the boot. |

Sorry, your wrong there. I had a spare 20" in my boot with a 245 45 20" tyres and the boot floor cover sits perfectly flat. My question is why have you fitted 255's to the car when the correct width is 235. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. 255s probably have a deeper wall so lift the car off the ground more for extra ground clearance? |
