I love my Freelander and genuinely don't know where I will go next (not that I'm changing anytime soon) it may be that I go back to good old Volvo - had 7 and no bad experiences - but it looks like they too are getting rather top heavy on their pricing. No Longer the owner of a 2013MY Fuji White GS

Mind you .. we think we have problems.. what about the poor old 90 and 110 boys... What are Land Rover doing?.. I assume Jaguar are also doing the same... Let's hope they have enough 'top end' customers to go around!.... |

The Antara is not a bad car to be honest, I only had one of the earlier ones (08 plate) but it was well specced and spacious.

My parents had a 57 reg and found the gearbox to be a bit rough but this newer one seems a lot smoother. They are getting mats and boot may thrown in. They looked at the DS but couldn't justify the price tag for what they use it for. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200 |

I was told "summer to late summer" by my local Ford dealership. Whilst I haven't driven any of the current models of competitor's offerings that I test drove before buying the FL2 (MY11), many online reviews criticise their handling and road manners. One thing that I like about the FL2, and not something that I really appreciated before purchase, is how well it handles and goes (SD4) for a big car. The only thing that compared to it in that respect was the XC60, which was very car like, but to me that is more of an Evoque competitor, since it rides much lower. The Edge is the only thing out there that I think might compare to the FL2, but as stated, it's not cheap. I priced one up and sure it's cheaper, but not in the ballpark as the Asian offerings. I seriously considered an Outlander PHEV, which was nice enough to drive, but not that inspiring, and until there are chargers installed at work, I can't get to work and back for 'free'. It had niggling issues though, like the rear view mirror would not twist high enough for me in the seat position that I would want. The FL2 ticks many boxes for me, and when mine is 5 yrs old in March, which is when I was considering changing it, I am sorely tempted to get an MY13/14 HSE Lux (I need the 8 way seat adjustment). At my current rate of ~9k miles I can pick something up at 20-30k miles and still feel comfortable about the mileage in another 5 yrs time. |

I think it's 2WD they've went for so should be a bit better than the Fl2. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200 |

When thinking about changing back last summer I gave the new Subaru Outback a run in SE premium guise. Must say it was very good but in the end went for an ex demonstrator Freelander SD4 . Although popular in the States and Australia we have never really taken to them but with many low mileage demonstrators on the books they should perhaps be given a go. MY 09 GS manual in Lago Grey, Wood Co arm rest and side bumper strips - now sold.

Popped into my dealers the other day to look at trading in my 2011 for a 2013 facelift or evoque.
