Gearbox fault Traction reduced!

MY13 manual TD4 XS.
Wonder if you could help.
Today while driving on normal road a message came up on the message centre: " Gearbox fault Traction reduced. Press OK to clear" which I then pressed "OK" button. The car seemed running normally; I stopped by roadside then started the engine again, hoped for the meassage went away but it still came up even before engaging gear.
I got home, stopped-started engine the message was still there.
Don't know if it is serious fault or not.
Greatly appreciate for all advice.

Thank Barton Freelander. Did you get it done right away?
Just went out and started the car, the message isn't there any more!

I got this warning on the dash of my 2013 FL2 last week and it went in today for a replacement haldex pump.

Apparently the part installed on my car has now been superseded so it now has a newer bit!

Has just ticked over 53,000 kms and has not spent more than 2% of its time on a TR setting other than 'normal'. Bit frustrating with a newish car but once I got it checked out at the indie (remote WA) the part was shipped and installed within 2 days. Cant complain about that!

Not excusing your Haldex pump early failure but the Haldex pump is working all the time regardless of selecting a "special terrain response setting". Infact you will hear the pump priming the Haldex system before you even start the engine!
Even in "normal" setting the Haldex system is working quite a lot in the background that you are unlikely aware of. MY15

Had that on our 2012 Evoque in February which I believe has the same mechanics and electrics as the later FL2's. We'd just driven 200 miles to a holiday cottage, missed the turning, put it in reverse and got the same message as you. Lost drive completely. Tried 'D', same message and no drive. Switched off, started up again and all fine. Hasn't done it since and it's done about 3,000 miles and four months since it happened. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto
Evoque SD4 Dynamic Lux Auto
Present: Audi A3 S Line.

I was in Spain at the end of February this year when the error shown up on the dash board. It did several times each days for 2 days and each time I pressed OK button to clear the error; after 2 days the error stopped showing. I didn't see any "reduced traction" the car just seemed normal. When returned to UK I showed LR Team valley the photos of the fault and they replaced the haldex's pump under warranty. I was interested to know the job's details such as apart from the pump what did they replace? Did they have to replace the haldex oil and filter as well? I didn't receive any paperwork for the job.
