Trip distance meter

Hi guys,
recently I was on a longer trip where I noticed, that trip meter resets to zero after 999.9kms. Is that normal? This happens on both meters. It just seems a bit odd to me that it won't show you when you drive over a thousand kilometres.

Well if it's only got three digits before the decimal point what do you expect? It's the same in miles. On mine it rolls over and loses the "1" digit, the fuel and speed averages carry on recording.
Perhaps they don't expect you to travel that far between breakdowns Shocked 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Sorry for late reply.. I was just wondering whether it is just on my car or on all freelanders.. Because from my experience with other brands, they usually show travelled distance also in thousands..

I am old enough to remember when cars' odometers only went up to 99,999 before resetting (not that many cars made it that long before the rust got them). I think it was Volvo that introduced the extra digit and it was quite a talking point and a good marketing strategy. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
