Which trim level do I own?

Does anyone know how or where I can find out which trim level Freelander I own?

Is there a code within the VIN? A plate of sticker anywhere? I need to know E, S, SE, HS, HSE etc

I live in Sweden so my FL is a Nordic specific model (just a bit more winter proof), but here the trim levels are different than UK trim levels.

Anyone help?

Register on Land Rover ToPix, it's free, you can then input your VIN number and it should give you a full build spec for your car, it may also give a model designation.

If you have some pictures or a list of what's fitted we may be able to pin it down?

Thanks taztastic.Registered on TOPIX, great info but doesn't help with trim. It states 'BASE' for mine. I checked a known 'S' trim VIN and it too says 'BASE' I then checked an 'HSE' trim and it said 'HIGH'.
So whiist it kind of indicates trim level, it doesn't capture or identify it specifically.

The trim levels we have here are; E, S, SE, HSE.

99% sure mine will either be the E or S, I guess.

I have eco stop/start, fabric manual adj seats, full TR, heated screen (I think all Nordic models come with cold pack as standard), TD4 manual, tints and darker rear glass, standard radio with storage hole / box above, cruise, rear park sensors only, blank front fog light infills. I am on the face lifted version (more square shaped front fog light surrounds and different grill).

There are some FL here that do not have the TR knob in front of the gear stick, so assuming these are 4wd versions these might just have a basic 4wd system? Maybe this is the 'E' model (although I though E' was for stop/start?).

So confusing. I need to know as I am trying to trade it in at a non-LR dealer and they we have a valuation tool here that asks for the trim level to spit out a price. If I cannot determine trim, they will just use the lowest value trim they can find - of course!

Anyone wanna chip in with some clarity?

Four wheel drive models without the knob would be the S version here.
e is the eco stop start manual gears model.

All dealer paperwork, log book (V5 equiv) and finance paperwork have nothing other than TD4.

E rings a bell as the stop/start version. Although, don't all MY10/11 onwards have stop/start irrespective of trim level?

I have just bought an'09 HSE from an independent dealer and phoned the Authorised dealer in Glasgow who were good enough to take the VIN and then look it up on Direct Dealer Warranty (DDW) system. They then scanned and emailed the complete build spec to me. It Lists all the paint and trim clours, "features" and "Trim Details". The latter lists the trim as "DW12 Trim Level 4". It also lists "Premium Pack" e. g. armrests, premium leather, lower bodyside pained cladding, door casings and Ebony carpet. It also lists all the serial numbers of Radio/CD player; Differential, airbags, satnav etc.
However, nowhere does it actually state "HSE" !!!
So I suggest you try the authorised dealer and see if they will provide you with the same.

TOPIx lists the complete spec for mine. You have to click on the word "more" on the screen. Should work for yours as well? Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone
300TDi Disco (bought new - terrible car) sent back after 18 months
Freelander 1 Estate - leased, given back at end of lease
200TDi Disco (bought from a mate with 100,000 on the clock) - Gone
Disco 2 TD5 - sold and exported to France
FR2 TD4 GS - Gone
FR2 SD4 HSE - Now changed for a DS
New model ex-demo Evoque S 180 in white
Unable to order a new DS, so gave up. Now have a Volvo S90 Recharge.

Thanks Past Master.

Found 'more' in TOPIX and in the spec listing it says 'Special Value Pack E' so maybe that's it, I have an 'E'?

I need to find the VIN of some local known E S HSE etc cars and compare the 'more' tabs on TOPIX - the hunt continues.

Have registered on Topix and the "more" option displays much the same info under "Minor Features" as does the DDW printout. Topix states (for my HSE) that it has "Special Value pack H". it also states that "TD4 HSE". However, on re-reading the DDW printout and contrary to what I said before, it does state "TD4 150PS HSE" .

Does anyone have a copy of the brochure covering the 2009 vehicle as I am interested in what thte options were at the time?

Ah. It may be that it gives more information for recent models (mine is MY13). I got a whole page of information!

I obviously gave the wrong impression - it gave a full page and a bit listing everything fitted to the vehicle. Very useful. It stated (which the DDW print out didn't ) that the vehicle had "Analogue Audio Broadcasting" I.e .it didn't have DAB even tho it's fitted with the Premium radio/ ICE.

2009 brochure here

The brochures are fairly generic and not country specific, however, this may be an American brochure, you should be able to get the spec of each model and the options available from it Thumbs Up

Thanks Taztastic. I had already found that one and it is quite US specific (3.2ltr petrol seemed to be the only option in HSE or HST trim). Also found the UK one dated 2012 which seems to be the facelift (?)year models featuring S/GS/XS/HSE model range. I cant just find the one covering the '09 vehicles....
