I think it was up to the dealer whether or not they took up the offer. My local one claimed they had never heard of it. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues

Just had a look at Matford's (Exeter) web site and it shows 'Land Rover 3+' offer for FL2s over 3 years old.

From what I understand, the LR low cost servicing for FL2 is from 4 years old. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come......... |

Why is it cheaper when its older? I would have thought an older car needed more things doing to it? Or is it because they think new ones are owned by richer folk so can afford to be charged more? |

Older ones tend to be taken to independent garages, often less expensive than dealers for service costs, simple market economics really. |

Exactly right Taz, LR were losing out so its a way of encouraging people back to the dealer. I use my LR dealer for pretty much everything, expect things like brakes which I can do myself.

Hunters in Derby Offer this..
I would imagine its because they're out of warranty, so they can pick up every little issue and not be worried about LR having to pay for it.. Clever tactics if you ask me.. but for £275 I may treat the old girl to a dealer service MY2011 Freelander 2 GS Santorini Black MY2004 Freelander 1 Sport Java Black MY1986 Defender 90 Stornoway Grey - Fully Rebuilt this Year |

Although I think £75 extra to replace the fuel filter, check the seatbelts, drive belts and lubricate the door hinges is a bit steep..

Thats a little cynical, Its not underhanded like that at all. The LR dealer network have simply recognised the fact that a lot of owners go away from the dealer network after 3 years old, and are trying to get these customers back on board. My old car when to my dealer up until I sold it at 7 years old, and never once did they try to do anything that didn't really need doing. True, not all dealers are the best, but the last thing they want is to alienate a new band of customers. I never ever use independents, seen too many horror stories. If you have a problem, the come back 'can' be very limited! Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come......... |

might have to look into this 3+ service scheme. Mine is 6 years old next month with 72k so will be wanting it done soon.
