I've had a couple of racks that the bikes hang on and wasn't happy with either. My current rack is a 2 plus 1 style from the roof box company but it's a bit older than those shown here. The bikes sit on it firmly and there is no movement once they are strapped down.

AFAIK the THule Raange will fit any standard 50mm towball - plenty of info out there and contact numbers to check details just Google Thule bike carriers |

Just to confirm, my Thule rack is used with a detachable towbar, although I am wondering now why I opted for detachable since I leave it on all the time now. |
