I have been out for two long tests and am very close to leaving the fold. Will have a look at the test but to be honest other tests I have read an seen all seem to give it a good rating.

It's much more car like. Very comfy and drove well. It doesn't feel low to drive although it is a fair bit lower. I also found the iPod thing a bit naff but as it isn't a touch screen was a lot clearer to read and having a garman sd card sat nav is a boon for updates! The LED headlamps are fantastic, and they seem to have gotten away from unused front fog lamps.

Picked up my GLC in November and loving it. My FL2, my 3rd, while it actually did everything required, was beginning to seem a bit utility, particularly after the Jaguar XF I had before the last FL2. The LED lights, with the ILS (Intelligent Light System), cuts just the LED lights necessary while keeping the rest of the road illuminated, you can watch the cut off dark square moving with the car in front, it is quite hard after 40 years motoring to not try and dip the lights manually. Supposedly when you have the rear fog lights on, below certain speeds, the headlights act like fog lights, which is why you don’t have separate ones. Quality seems great, quiet, comfy and very nice to drive, while slightly lower it still gives enough view ahead. So far averaging 42.5 mpg and had to pay zero first year tax. Having only had touch screen before it took a little while to not keep jabbing the screen. With the current frosts I am missing the heated windscreen and heated driving wheel the FL2 had, and as with most newly designed cars I don’t like not having a spare wheel. I have bought 4 original MB wheels, identical to this fitted originally, with TPMS valves and winter tyres, from a German MB supplier for about 65% UK prices, delivered on a pallet with in 48 hours. |

Good idea re German wheels, did you have to pay import duty and still save that much? |
