Jaguar SS

1937 Jaguar works SS Rally Car, shame it was on axle stands though, the owner has taken it over the Alps in his younger days, the photos he had were spectacular, it must have been one heck of a trip, he went solo too Shocked

Taz, very nice, you don't often get the opportunity to sit in a car like that. have you got any photos of the interior? I think the garage has seen better days!

I was asked to take some photo's of the house, its the subject of a book that is being written, so I was pre-occupied with that, rather than getting pics of the car.
It was in very very good condition though and I have been told that discussion is under way with a museum, so it may well be available for all to see quite soon Thumbs Up

Apparently there was around 115 of this model made and this being a 'works' car it has a significant pedigree

The owner does have an exceptional taste for cars, he drives a year old Loire blue FL2, I have a photo of it but wont post it as it will give away the location of the other cars.

No to the address Laughing
Yes, a bloody great German Shepherd that I was told has a habit of grabbing people's arms Shocked , it followed me around the grounds, I kept talking to it, giving it a friendly scratch and it left me alone.

If anyone is interested, I also know the location of the original John Cooper works mini, not that I would ever tell of course, not while sober any ways Whistle
