United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Tangiers Orange
Symbol in INFO display

I have just purchased my first Land Rover Freelander 2 on a 07 plate and have only had it a month.
I had to use the terrain setting MUD RUTS on Sunday and for a few seconds no more than 3 a symbol of a axil appeared. Could anybody tell me what this represents as I am unable to locate it in the hand book.

Thanks Razz

It's to show the direction your wheels are pointing. Quite often when driving in muddy ruts the wheels can be pointing in one direction while the vehicle travels in another direction, pushed by the rear wheels.
When you pop out the ruts, if your wheels are on full lock you will veer off so the display let's you know which way your front wheels are pointing.

the axel symbol that comes on in mud and ruts mode tells you which way the front wheels are pointing.

the only axle display that comes up is the front steering axle. don't even think theres a function to show the rear axle

notice you have a tangiers orange FL2 ? is it one of the original G4 spec ones ? if so your going to have to get some pics up as its such a rare sight. Very Happy

there is no picture for a rear axle and diff on the display,

I have seen displays (normally satnav) show on the D3/4 and RSS etc to show the rear axle locking, but the FL2 doesn't have this facility, even on the G4 Tangiers Orange FL2 which I assume you have due to the profile picture Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I was testing the freely off road when the Mrs saw me "What the Bloody hell are you doing!"
Embarassed I was trying to get a photo but I upset the mrs as I was churning up her paddock.

Ever so slightly off topic, but in the picture above, does the little symbol that looks like i> mean/do anything? I've had it come up on mine before with Mud n ruts on thats all, just curious!

I'd figured that out haha Rolling with laughter
It just looks as though it means if you press something it will give you more information or something!

Yes, if you press the information button, you get information! Laughing the information button is on the end of the indicator stalk, or it is on mine.

when the i> is displayed it just means there is user information available. you have to press the button on the end of the stalk to scroll through the mpg/range/ave speed etc until it displays the information screen.

for example you can get the following info messages (there are more than 3)

terrain response mode if selected
low washer fluid
command shift selected (for an auto)
