another bluetooth

Hi new here and first freelander for me
I'm really impressed so far
But!! My Samsung S5 mini will not pair with the car?
I've searched on here and found a few posts regarding this and one where someone replaced the bluetooth module with a 2010 version to get it to work
Is this a plug and play or does it need configured at the dealer ?

TIA

My son and I have had a lot of problems with bluetooth on both of our current FL2s. He has a samsung android phone and I have an iphone, neither phone is really satisfactory with either car as the calls often dropout . Dealer claims that everything is OK of course. I don't make many calls so it doesn't bother me too much.
The thing to remember is that on some vehicles (the earlier ones I think) have the bluetooth module situated in the back of the car near the fuel filler and connected by a fibre optic cable. Others are different so you need to check this, 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
5 x FL2 4 manual + 1 auto

The later Samsung probably won't be compatible with your car years software, an update at great expense will probably pull in all the later phones, ask your dealer before you commit.

I would keep trying. No problems with my iPhone 6 and MY07 FL2.

trying!!!

Have you had any updates at the dealers for this?
Did it pair first time for you or did you have to try a few times?

TIA

Have you tried deleting any old phones already stored in the car as mine did this until I cleared them.

Hi it doesn't show any other phones when I start the process, it sees my phone OK but says "adding phone failed, would you like to try again" if I press the button for "yes" nothing happens so I have to choose no and start again

Thanks

Hi,

I had a terrible time getting my iPhone 6 to work with my 07 plate FL2, to the point where I nearly strangled the dealer (it's a hormonal pregnant woman thing lol). In the end it would pair perfectly but calls would drop out and despite me hearing callers fine, they couldn't hear me. The dealer said as the software didn't support my phone, basically "tough luck". That said, they also said an iPhone 4 would work perfectly with my car/software and my husband's won't even pair or recognise it, but ho hum...

In the end I went on Amazon and bought a Himbox HB01 kit which routes, via bluetooth, your phone through the aux port and through your radio. It works very well and is dead easy to plug in. Can't recommend it enough...and less than £25 delivered. I know it defeats the object of buying a car with Bluetooth but it was only way I could solve it.

Hope this helps?

When you try pairing your phone to your radio you do allow your phones bluetooth to be visible to the car or you will find that you will not be able to pair it as the audio unit won't detect it. I know this first hand as the Mrs keeps having this issue.

Hi
Yes phone is in "visible" mode
Guess it must be the software, bluetooth version, as it sees my phone but my phone doesn't see it after scanning

Thanks
