This is a D1s HID lamp, what are you wanting to upgrade?

You cant just substitute a Halogen H bulb for a Xenon DS though, as youve found out a Xenon/HID needs a ballast which the halogen system doesnt have, the Xenon needs an auto leveling system and needs a headlamp wash fitted also.

yes ok I get you, I do have the headlamp washers, which is why I thought it might be a case of fitting the ballast unit but as i now realise you have to do programming etc that now answers my question, thanks for your help |

In you picture there is a lamp shown on the right, that is the H11 high beam lamp, behind the glass lens on the left will be another lamp, possibly the D1s or is it another halogen lamp?

You have the thumbwheel then you have halogens, only suitable lamps to fit as is are H7 high beam and H11 low halogens. |

I got to the bottom of it and have no got the osram night breakers and replaced to fog lights which are h11 and the dipped beam which are also h11 which i have been very impressed with and have a much brighter and whiter light.. however i also bought the osram night breakers in the high beam which are h7 bulbs and can see the light is a lot whiter which is what i wanted but seem that the high beam light has dropped and doesn't spread further and if anything worse than the standards especially notice this when on a country road which i travel to and from work most days on. any advice? i have checked the alignment of the bulb and its perfect i have also fitted the standard and seem to have the same problem? is it a case of taking it to an mot bay to re-adjust the lights?

I dont think you can adjust the main beams alone without adjusting the lot as its the headlight unit as a whole with the adjusters? |
